Alastair Mullin has joined the University Relations team as director of Government Relations. With over a decade of experience in the public and private sectors, Mullin has held senior positions with three federal cabinet ministers through several government departments. He has also worked with an international consulting firm, providing strategic government relations and communications counsel at the senior and CEO level to clients in sectors such as real estate, emergency planning, security and intelligence, mining, and mergers and acquisitions.
Mullin, a uOttawa alumnus, joins the University from the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, where he served as a deputy director in the communications section.
As director of Government Relations, Mullin will serve as the University’s liaison with all levels of government and will help forge and enhance strategic relationships that advance government understanding of the University’s unique mission, vision and strategic goals.
