Gilles Paquet was recently named for a two-year term as president of the Royal Society of Canada. His mandate extends to November 2005.
Paquet took the helm from another University of Ottawa researcher, vice-rector, research, Howard Alper, who held the presidency of the Royal Society from 2001 to 2003.
