The University of Ottawa attained a record enrolment of 35,548 students in fall 2007, an increase of 3.8 per cent relative to 2006.
“Globally, we are seeing an increase of 2.4 per cent of undergraduate students relative to 2006,” said François Chapleau, associate vice-president for strategic enrolment management. “We had an increase of 6.6 per cent in full-time first-year registrants.”
At the graduate level, there was an increase of 14 per cent over 2006 figures, with the University now hosting a total of 4,628 graduate students. “The graduate increase is part of a province-wide effort and will continue to grow in 2008,” said Pierre Mercier, associate vice-president, Institutional Research and Planning. “At the undergraduate level, the University plans for a steady status over the next three years,” he added.
