The University of Ottawa welcomed the Honourable Madam Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella as the featured speaker in the second annual David Makow Lecture on Tolerance and Intolerance. Justice Abella, considered one of Canada’s foremost experts in human rights law, spoke about tolerance, democratic values and global perspectives.
This distinguished lecture series is named for David Makow, who spent most of his working life as a physicist with the National Research Council, in Ottawa. He was also a visiting scholar at the Weizmann Institute in Israel and is one of a small group of Holocaust survivors honoured for their services to Canada.
