University of Ottawa students, professors and staff will soon find out how cold winter can be without hair! The University’s medical students have challenged the University community to shave their heads to raise funds for the Childhood Cancer Foundation in support of pediatric cancer care and research in their annual “Shave for a Cure” fundraiser.
Shaving will take place on January 25 at the Ottawa 67’s game. In addition, there will be a silent auction featuring hockey memorabilia and many other prizes.
Last year, students raised nearly $30,000 for cancer research and this year they hope to surpass that amount to reach a new fundraising record. All funds raised will be donated to the Childhood Cancer Foundation.
