Faculty of Education celebrates excellence

The Faculty of Education held its fifth annual ceremony in celebration of Excellence in Education, on November 21. The faculty — Ontario’s oldest school of bilingual teacher education — also took this opportunity to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

Three professors and one support staff member were honoured at this year’s ceremony:

Award for Excellence in Teaching – Richard Maclure

For close to two decades, Professor Maclure has guided new generations of educators, who in turn, will make a difference in their fields and communities.

Part-Time Professor Award for Excellence – André Vinette and Antonietta Lenjosek

André Vinette uses a variety of teaching strategies for his students to draw effective links between theory and practice.

Antonietta Lenjosek regularly gives her time outside of the classroom to support students in their projects and to offer them insights on teaching strategies.

Support Staff Award for Excellence in Education – Denise Raymond

Denise Raymond, coordinator, academic services, is recognized for her professionalism, organizational skills and sense of commitment, which have established her reputation as a key resource person in the faculty.

Congratulations to all.
