The University of Ottawa offers its condolences to the family and former colleagues of Camille La Bossière, retired professor of the Department of English. Professor La Bossière passed away at the age of 64, on October 28, in Renfrew. He served the Department of English and the wider University community in numerous capacities, including as department chair during the 1990s.
“I always enjoyed Camille’s presence, his wonderful sense of humor, often self-deprecating, and his good judgment on academic issues,” said Robert Major, vice-president, academic and provost, who sat on various committees with Professor La Bossière, including the Faculty Teaching Personnel Committee. “He was a fine judge of people, but his wit was always tempered by a very strong dose of compassion and empathy.”
