Through an interchange program with Health Canada, Bette Meek joins the R. Samuel McLaughlin Centre for Population Health Risk Assessment as associate director, Chemical Risk Assessment. Meek has a background in toxicology and has managed several chemical risk assessment programs within the Safe Environments Program of Health Canada.
Her two-year appointment will allow Meek to identify and develop opportunities for mutually beneficial interactions involving the federal government, the academic community and agencies such as the World Health Organization.
