Physics professor Chris Willott was part of a team that was responsible for discovering a record-breaking black hole located nearly 13 billion light years from Earth. Willott presented the results of this discovery at the annual meeting of the Canadian Astronomical Society in Kingston, Ontario, in early June. Future observations of this black hole will shed light on the early stages of evolution of the universe.
