Pay deposit dates will change in June

For several years, the date that your pay was deposited in your bank account has varied from one pay period to the next, but it was usually two working days before the official deposit dates, which are the 15th and the last day of each month.

This was due to the lead time that banks required to transfer pays into each account. Today, information technology allows the University to send payroll data electronically, so banks can now process and deposit pays without any administrative delay.

As a result, starting in June 2007, University employees’ pay will be deposited on the 15th and the last day of each month. (When the deposit date falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, pay will be deposited into your account one working day prior.)

Human Resources has sent a letter to employees outlining this change and has provided detailed information on its Web site. This information includes the new pay schedule and a reminder of the possible effects on any automatic monthly payments or withdrawals you have set up.
