uOttawa Capital Educators’ Awards finalists

Created in the fall of 2001 by a group of business and education leaders, the Capital Educators’ Awards recognize and celebrate the dedication and achievements of local educators across the entire spectrum from kindergarten to PhD.

This year, the University of Ottawa received an outstanding 226 nominations for the 2007 Capital Educators’ Awards. From this impressive number, eight uOttawa professors are among the 65 finalists. Two professors from Saint Paul University are also finalists. These finalists will participate in the EduGala event on May 24, where the 20 winners will be announced.

The eight uOttawa nominees are Janice Ahola-Sidaway (Education), Pierre Bélanger (Communication), Alia Cadinouche (Biology), Robert Gaucher (Criminology),Nicole LaViolette (Law), Janet Nuth (Medicine), Mark Salter (Political Science), Rachel Thibeault (Health Sciences).

The finalists for Saint Paul University are Rocky Dwyer, (Philosophy), Heather Eaton, (Theology).
