President Gilles Patry’s second term as president and vice-chancellor concludes on June 30, 2008. He has advised the chairman of the Board of Governors that upon completion of his current term, he is stepping down from his position as president. The process to select a new president is therefore underway.
The search for a president is the responsibility of the Board of Governors.
The Selection Committee comprises 11 members:
• Marc Jolicoeur, chair of the Board of Governors, who will chair the Selection Committee
• Gilles Hurteau, vice-chair of the Board of Governors
• Five members elected by Senate from amongst its members:
Cécile Coderre, vice-dean Academic and Secretary
Nathalie Des Rosiers, dean of Civil Law Section
Mathieu Gravel, student (undergraduate)
Claude Laguë, dean, Faculty of Engineering
Gary Slater, dean, Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
• Four members appointed by the Board of Governors, from amongst its members:
Pierre de Blois, former executive director, Association
of Professional Executives of the Public Service of CanadaRuth Freiman, chief executive officer, HOWO
Abdo G. Ghié, assistant to the associate vice-president,
Strategic Enrollment Management and RegistrarKelly McClellan, student (graduate)
