SFUO elections: A hotly contested race

Following the student elections held on February 13, 14 and 15, Pam Hrick was elected to the post of president of the Student Federation. In a hotly contested race, Hrick garnered 41 per cent of the total votes cast, narrowly defeating Jean-Philippe Michel with 40 per cent and Matthew Winston with 19 per cent of total votes. Due to the slim margin between the top two candidates, three recounts were held.

François Picard, vice-president, communications, and Seamus Wolfe, vice-president, university affairs, won their elections without contest.

Danika Brisson, elected vice-president, student affairs, defeated two other candidates. Matthew Joseph, who faced one opponent and received 70 per cent of the votes, was elected vice-president, social affairs. Dean Haldenby, who also faced one opponent and received 60 per cent of the votes, was elected vice-president, finance.
