Eminent British historian and the official biographer of Sir Winston Churchill, Sir Martin Gilbert will deliver the inaugural David Makow Lecture on Tolerance and Intolerance. This multidisciplinary lecture series explores cross-cultural issues in the hope of inspiring Canadian students to become agents of change on the world stage.
Sir Martin Gilbert’s lecture is entitled The Twentieth Century: A Century of Intolerance? The lecture will cover the topics of war, civil war and persecution throughout the twentieth century, with special reference to the implications of these historical conflicts for the present day.
