What is it about your job that inspires you most?

There is a real sense of family at my work. As the youngest in my group, it is the best way to describe it. I receive great support from my supervisor and wonderful encouragement from my team.

What was your life’s proudest moment?

The proudest moment in my life was the birth of my son. It is awesome to be a mother and I strive to be a good mom.

What would you change in the world today if you could?

I would eliminate famine and poverty.

Who is your greatest friend? Why?

My best friend, whom I have known since we were kids, works at Agriculture Canada.  Growing up, we used to wear the same things and share the same tastes. It’s a little different now, but we still share many common interests. We have always enjoyed a great connection. Sometimes we are so alike; you would think we were twins.

What would your co-workers be most surprised to know about you?

People would be surprised at how quiet I am at home.

What is your favourite pastime?

I love to draw and I enjoy karaoke.

You’ve just won a $1 million. What do you do?

I would spend and offer gifts to those close to me.

What is the quality you value the most?

I think today’s most important quality is generosity — do something without asking for anything in return or offering a few hours of our time to help others.

What is your greatest hope for the future?

I want to be happy about the choices I have made.

What is the best kept secret in your faculty, department or service?

We are like a chain … all the links are important.
