On November 1, Harry Gow, a passionate defender of public transport, the environment and la Francophonie, received the 2006 Hubert Reiter Award.
Gow is a former field placement coordinator at the Department of Criminology. He founded Transport 2000 Canada, which aims to promote public transport. He has taken part in a number of philanthropic undertakings, including a scholarship fund that he helped set up in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The Hubert Reiter Award recognizes an employee whose volunteer work has contributed to the University’s community outreach efforts.
