Dr. Pierre Blier: new member of Scientific Council

Dr. Pierre Blier, Canada Research Chair in Psychopharmacology, at uOttawa, has been invited to serve on NARSAD’s scientific council, an advisory group of 94 leaders in psychiatry and neuroscience. The council includes two Nobel laureates.

NARSAD, the largest donor-supported charity for mental health research in the US, will recognize the 20th anniversary of its scientific council at its 19th annual New York gala on October 27th.

NARSAD supports innovative scientific research to find the causes and better treatments for severe psychiatric illnesses, such as depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Since 1987, it has distributed nearly $200 million in research grants to 2,284 scientists in the United States and 25 other countries.
