SSRAUO : 10 years already

  Founding members of SSRAUO honoured

The Support Staff Retirees Association of the University of Ottawa (SSRAUO) held their Annual General Meeting on May 24, 2006. It was the perfect occasion to recognize the association’s tenth year since inception. Founding members of the association were honoured: from left to right, Simone Paquette, Don Seaman, Denise Carroll, Marcel Chartrand, Laure Beaulieu, Pauline Malette-Dupont, Lucille L’Heureux, Solange Malo and Thérèse Huot.

The idea to create the association came from Denise Carroll, a former administrative officer in the President’s Office. The first meeting was held at 559 King Edward Avenue on February 9, 1996. Today, the association has about 110 members.

Over the years, the association has been involved in a number of committees including those for pension plan reform and the University’s 150th anniversary. The association has also organized many activities for its members such as breakfasts, trips, conferences and tours.
