Shirley Westeinde and Dr. Peter Walker were honoured with the Partners in Research “Biomedical Science Ambassador Award,” on May 9, 2006, for their respective and unique contributions to health research in Canada.
Westeinde received the award for her charitable contributions, which include boards of research institutes and several charitable campaigns; and Dr. Walker, was recognized for his research accomplishments in internal medicine and endocrinology, and for his leadership as dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
