Students – CSL Professors Details
Alexandra Arellano
After my studies at Laval University, I completed my PhD in sociology at Lancaster University in England. I was interested in Inca heritage revival movements and cultural changes occasioned by the fast development of international tourism in Peru. During my postdoctoral studies in the “Chaire de recherche du Canada en patrimoine urbain” (UQAM), I worked on festivals or the “festivalisation” of society from the perspective of identity and imagination renewals. This experience also gave me the opportunity to contribute in a project of sustainable tourism development and revitalization of indigenous heritage in Cholula, Mexico. Finally, after working one year as a professor in England, I am now assistant professor in Leisure studies, University of Ottawa. My forthcoming project will deal with international cooperation in a sustainable tourism and leisure project in Peru. |
