Claude Lamontagne
After undergraduate training in Classical Studies and in Psychology at Laval University, Claude Lamontagne obtains a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1976. Early in his career, he discovers a family of visual illusions now known as «Sigma movements». Specializing in Cognitive and Neurological Sciences, his research over the years address problems of sensory physiology as well as problems of computer-based educational technology. In three successive years, he is awarded local, provincial and national awards for excellence in teaching : The University of Ottawa award in 2001, an Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) award in 2002, and a 3M Teaching Fellowship in 2003. Over the last few years, he has been invited to address various college and university communities on the problems facing post-secondary education. He is currently developing a series of public conferences on how modern Neurophysiology leads to conclude that death is imaginary. |
