Micheline Lessard

Micheline Lessard obtained her bachelor’s degree in history and in journalism from Concordia University in 1985, and her master’s degree in Asian history also from Concordia University. In 1995 she obtained her doctorate in South-East Asian history from Cornell University. Her research focus on the history of Vietnam during the French colonial period, as well as Vietnamese women and Vietnamese nationalist movements. She has published articles in Vietnamologica, French Colonial History, The Encyclopedia of Modern Asia, and chapters in several anthologies. She was co-director for a manuscript entitled Women and the Colonial Gaze.
