Peter Bischoff

Dr. Peter Bischoff is a full-time professor with the History department at the University of Ottawa, and specializes in the economic history of Canada and the history of its working class, the history of Quebec, and the history of economy and work. His current research interests include the evolution of the workplace in the steel industry from 1879 to 1950; the Chevaliers du Travail in Québec from 1882 to 1902; and the débardeurs in Quebec ports from 1850 to 1900. He has published several articles in different periodicals, along with a chapter in Emotions and Cultural Change: Gefuehlskultur im Wandel. Tuebingen: Stauffenburg, published in 2001.
