Sharon Cook

Sharon Anne Cook is Professor at the University of Ottawa (145 Jean Jacques Lussier, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) with a joint appointment to the Faculty of Education and Department of History; email: scook@uottawa.ca . Her research interests include the teaching of History, Civics and Democratic engagement, peace education, the history of moral regulation in formal and informal education, and the gendered and classed meanings of forbidden acts such as smoking and drinking. Among her recent publications are (with Lorna R. McLean & Kate O'Rourke, eds). Framing Our Past: Canadian Women's History in the Twentieth Century , Kingston and Montreal: McGill-Queen's University Press, 2001.
