COMMUNITY PARTNER INFORMATION:
Organization:
Association éducative CREATIVANÒNIM Educational Association
Description:
Great River School was founded in 2008 by a community of families committed to increasing access to Waldorf-inspired education in the National Capital Region. There are four pillars to Great River School; Faculty, Board of Directors, Administration, and the Parent Committee. Our school is part of a growing body of schools that embrace the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Waldorf Education Waldorf Education is based on consciously meeting unique stages of development in the growing child, and strives to raise education into a living art form that addresses the whole child. Its highest endeavour is, in Steiner's words, to "develop free human beings who are able, of themselves, to impart purpose and direction to their lives." Waldorf Education provides a time-tested curriculum based on math, science and language programs, enlivened by the arts, to enhance the learning process. Within these subject areas, respect for the natural world and the history of humanity are fundamental to the curriculum and woven into our social fabric.
