Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest
Description:
Mandate: Our organization's mandate is to provide an annual, world-class event showcasing both Canadian and international musicians. Objectives: 1. To establish one of Canada's foremost community music festivals in the City of Ottawa to be known as Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest; 2. To educate and promote the public's appreciation of traditional, emerging and diverse musical genres including without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Blues, World Music, Alternative, Rock, Jazz, Funk, Soul, Rap, Folk, Urban, and other forms of music which develop from time to time; 3. To develop an expanding, broad and diverse audience for Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest designed to ensure a broad cultural and economic demographic of audience participation for the festival and the resulting exposure of diverse musical genres to the public; 4. To receive and maintain a fund or funds and to apply all or part thereof and the income therefrom for educational purposes within schools in the City of Ottawa for the purpose of promoting the appreciation and education of students in Blues music; 5. To help or otherwise support other charitable organizations, institutions, events or activites where the subject is related to the foregoing objects.
