COMMUNITY PARTNER INFORMATION:
Organization:
Human Rights Internet
Description:
Human Rights Internet (HRI) is a non-governmental organization based in Ottawa, that collects, shares and disseminates human rights documentation. Its primary audience is the world wide human rights community, i.e. human rights organizations and workers. Although HRI was founded in 1976, prior to the universal availability of the Internet, its name now reflects its focus on documentation sharing, communication and exchange through the Internet. Its current programs focus on acquiring documentation of human rights organizations, and for placing interns in human rights organizations throughout the world for which HRI receives government funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
