MEDIA ADVISORY: Ceremony in honour of Remembrance Day
OTTAWA,
November 10, 2015 —
A Remembrance Day ceremony will take place on November 11 at the University of Ottawa to remember the contribution our veterans made, honour the memory of those who gave their lives for Canada and thank those who continue to serve Canada.
WHAT: Remembrance Day ceremony
WHEN: Wednesday, November 11, at 9:30 a.m.
WHERE: Front steps of Tabaret Hall, or in the event of inclement weather,
in the Tabaret Hall Rotunda (550 Cumberland Street, Ottawa | map)
Two special guests will speak:
William J. Gunter, WWII veteran with the Royal Canadian Navy. Mr. Gunter took part in landing missions in France aboard Landing Craft Infantry 149 on June 6th, 1944, at Juno Beach.
Raphaƫl Leduc, master's candidate at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and member of the Canadian Armed Forces, has nine years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces, including tours in Kuwait and Afghanistan.
