MEDIA ADVISORY: Launch of Shine the Light campaign

OTTAWA, November 2, 2015  —  The University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Social Sciences in partnership with the Ottawa Police Service and the Ottawa Coalition to End Violence against Women invites members of the medias to the launch of the Shine the Light campaign to increase community awareness of violence against girls and women.

Professor Holly Johnson will speak about the results of her study, Improving the Police Response to Crimes of Violence against Women: Ottawa Women Have Their Say. As part of the study, over 200 women shared their experiences and views in order to improve the policies and practices of the Ottawa Police Service.
