Fall Convocation: a time for celebration!
OTTAWA,
October 23, 2015 —
Receiving a university degree is a significant moment for students, the culmination of years of effort. This fall, the University of Ottawa will proudly confer degrees on more than 1,800 students. Convocation is a time for graduates and their families to truly celebrate this important milestone.
The ceremonies will be held on October 25, in Southam Hall of the National Arts Centre, with Allan Rock, president and vice-chancellor, in attendance. The event will also be broadcast live. Visit the uOttawa YouTube channel on October 25 to see the ceremonies and participate in the celebrations.
The University will also confer honorary doctorates on two outstanding figures: Alain Mérieux, chair of the Institut Mérieux, and Ingrid Betancourt, Colombian politician, former senator and anti-corruption activist

WHEN: Sunday, October 25, at 9:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

At each ceremony, a class president will have the honour of delivering a valedictory to fellow graduates. The title of class president is given to students who are committed to the community and have exemplary academic records
Ceremonies and honorary doctorate recipients
Honorary doctorate recipients will speak approximately 30 minutes after the start of the ceremony.
