MEDIA ADVISORY: Telfer launches capital fund and expands Financial Research and Learning Lab
OTTAWA, September 16, 2015 — The University of Ottawa and the Telfer School of Management invite members of the media to attend the re-opening of the newly expanded Financial Research and Learning Lab. The lab will offer students access to more computers able to run financial databases, such as Bloomberg and other analysis and research tools, to better meet the increasing demand for these resources.

The Telfer Capital Fund (TCF), the school’s new student-managed portfolio, will be launched at this event. The inaugural TCF team will comprise sixteen of Telfer’s brightest students, who will work as the Fund’s analysts and portfolio managers, focusing on building a value-based investment portfolio and aiming to beat their benchmark. The TCF team will rely heavily on the resources available at the Financial Research and Learning Lab for their investment decisions and analysis.
