MEDIA ADVISORY: Ground-breaking ceremony for uOttawa Learning Centre
OTTAWA,
August 11, 2015 —
The University of Ottawa invites members of the media to a ground-breaking ceremony for the newest building on campus: the Learning Centre, an investment of $83 million.
Located at the core of the campus, the new Learning Centre will provide the university community with modern classrooms, as well as study and learning space. The Learning Centre will feature state-of-the-art “active learning” facilities, including technology-enhanced classrooms and two new amphitheatres. The new space will offer a variety of study and lounge areas, providing students with an ideal learning environment in a modern, green building on the main campus.

Allan Rock, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ottawa, will be joined by the Honourable Madeleine Meilleur, Attorney General for Ontario, Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs and MPP for Ottawa-Vanier, and the Honourable Reza Moridi, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, for the event.
