MEDIA ADVISORY: iVote-jeVote series: The Role of Bilingual Institutions

OTTAWA, June 2, 2015  —  The Jean-Luc Pepin Research Chair of the University of Ottawa invites members of the media to attend a panel discussion on the role that bilingual institutions play in official-language minority communities. Panellists will address theoretical issues surrounding institutional bilingualism and minority representation, the role of bilingual universities from a sociological perspective and the practical aspects of bringing about genuine institutional bilingualism.

Rémi Léger, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Simon Fraser University
Normand Labrie, Professor, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto

This event is presented by iVote-jeVote, an initiative sponsored by the Jean-Luc Pepin Research Chair that aims to counter the drop in voter turnout in Canada, especially among underrepresented groups.
