MEDIA ADVISORY: Max Planck Centre to be established at the University of Ottawa
OTTAWA,
May 22, 2015 —
The University of Ottawa invites members of the media to attend the official announcement of the Max Planck - University of Ottawa Centre for Extreme and Quantum Photonics, a partnership with Germany’s Max Planck Society.
Until now, there have been only two other Max Planck Centres established in partnership with other institutions in North America. This third one will now be located at the University of Ottawa’s Advanced Research Complex.
The partnership between the Max Planck Society and the University of Ottawa in photonics research will be formalized at a signing ceremony.
WHAT: Establishment of a Max Planck Centre at the University of Ottawa
WHEN: Tuesday, May 26, 9 a.m.
WHERE: Advanced Research Complex (ARC), 55 Templeton Street, Ottawa
Ferdi Schüth, vice-president of the Max Planck Society, will be in attendance for this historic event along with Allan Rock, president and vice-chancellor, and Mona Nemer, vice-president, research.
