A Conversation about Bill C-51, Anti-Terror and the Canadian State
OTTAWA, March 20, 2015 — The Public Law Group of the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law will convene a panel of experts to discuss Bill C-51 and its effects on civil liberties. Many groups who sought to appear before the parliamentary committee were unable to do so. The Public Law Group’s experts will give a voice to their points of view and provide an analysis of the bill’s effect on the Canadian State.

The panellists will be:
Nathalie Des Rosiers, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section and former General Counsel for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association.
Professor Michael Geist, Canada Research Chair in Internet and E-commerce Law and one of Canada’s top experts on privacy rights.
Professor Joanne St. Lewis, expert on equity issues and lecturer on counter-terrorism.
The panel will be moderated by Tonda MacCharles, reporter for the Toronto Star.
