University of Ottawa Press book wins a Prose Award
OTTAWA,
February 11, 2015 —
The University of Ottawa Press has received a prestigious PROSE Award in Literature for The Collected Poems of Miriam Waddington, a two-volume edition by Ruth Panofsky.
The PROSE Awards, presented by the Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division of the Association of American Publishers, honour noteworthy and original contributions to the professional and scholarly publishing world each year.
Miriam Waddington, the first Jewish Canadian woman to publish poetry written in English, participated in the rise of modernist Canadian poetry. In this first critical edition of Miriam Waddington’s collected poems, Ryerson University professor Ruth Panofsky brings Waddington’s complete œuvre back into print for the first time since 1986, with the addition of previously unpublished poems and translations.
The University of Ottawa Press is delighted to attract top scholars to craft carefully curated series that significantly contribute to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the social sciences and humanities.
