MEDIA ADVISORY: Safe Harbour Turkey: Restoring Hope Photo Exhibition
OTTAWA,
December 5, 2014 —
The University of Ottawa, in collaboration with the Turkish Embassy and the UN Refugee Agency, invite members of the media to attend the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition titled “Safe Harbour Turkey: Restoring Hope”.
The exhibition showcases the experiences of millions of refugees who have come to Turkey to escape war, famine and strife. Currently, over 1.6 million Syrian refugees are living in Turkey in camps that provide food, shelter, healthcare, and above all, safety. It chronicles their experiences as they recover from their grief and slowly begin to piece together a new life, learning new skills while they wait for peace in their own lands or find a home somewhere else.
