OTTAWA,
September 26, 2014 —
The University of Ottawa invites members of the media to attend the official opening of the Advanced Research Complex (ARC), an important step towards making Ottawa the epicentre of geoscience in Canada and the photonics capital of the world.
WHAT: Tour of the new Advanced Research Complex
WHERE: Advanced Research Complex (25 Templeton Street | Map)
WHEN: Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Official Opening Ceremony begins at 10 a.m.
IMPORTANT: Tours of the complex will be given at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. (before and after the official opening). The presence of VIPs will reduce the number of places available for media at the 9 a.m. tour, so please confirm your participation by contacting Kina Leclair.
The ARC’s impressive glass lobby, which overlooks bustling King Edward Avenue, allows passersby to peek inside the $70-million ARC building. The complex brings together researchers, students and partners from various disciplines to foster a greater exchange of scientific knowledge. The new facility will house specialized laboratories, an impressive accelerator mass spectrometer, and vibration-resistant floors.
