MEDIA ADVISORY: Important historical artifacts found on Tabaret construction site

OTTAWA, August 26, 2014  —  The University of Ottawa invites the media to view a collection of artifacts that were recently unearthed during Tabaret Hall renovations. The 19th century artifacts were found on a site where the University’s main building stood before burning down on December 2, 1903.

The artifacts, which include dinner plates, glass bottles and other kitchen items, are of great historical and archeological value and are an exciting discovery for the university.

Chief Archivist, Michel Prévost, will present the collection and provide historical and background information on these items. He will also be available for interviews.
