MEDIA ADVISORY: Towards greater independence for people with intellectual disabilities
OTTAWA, May 1, 2014 — The Centre for Research on Educational and Community Services (CRECS) at the University of Ottawa invites members of the media to learn more about a unique support program for persons with intellectual disabilities.This program brings together persons with intellectual disabilities, community-based supports, and formal service providers to help persons meet their individual, independently chosen needs and goals.
The research team will be on hand to unveil three tools—two videos and a comic strip—that showcase successes of this approach.
A program participant will also be on hand and available for interviews (please let us know in advance if you would like to conduct an interview).
