MEDIA ADVISORY: Visit the Skills and Simulation Centre with Mayor, Dean, and Shanghai university delegation
OTTAWA, April 10, 2014 — The University of Ottawa cordially invites members of the media to visit the University’s Skills and Simulation Centre (uOSSC), the largest centre of its kind in Canada, along with Mayor Jim Watson, Faculty of Medicine Dean Dr. Jacques Bradwejn and a delegation from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (SJTUSM). This event follows up on the signing of a memorandum of understanding between uOttawa and SJTIUSM October 19, 2013 to establish joint medical education and research programs.

The uOSSC enhances patient safety by improving the education opportunities for health care professionals and informing best clinical practice through innovative research.
The MOU between the uOttawa Faculty of Medicine and the SJTUSM calls for a joint fund of $2 million over five years for research and medical education.
