MEDIA ADVISORY: Official Opening of the Ian G. Scott Courtroom

OTTAWA, October 21, 2013  —  The University of Ottawa invites the media to attend the official opening of the new Ian G. Scott Courtroom, the first of its kind to be located on a Canadian university campus. The Ian G. Scott Courtroom is a fully functional courtroom and adjoining classroom where sitting judges will hear regular cases, including motions, appeals, judicial reviews, and applications.

WHAT:  Official opening of the Ian G. Scott Courtroom
WHEN:  Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at 11:30 a.m.
WHERE:  Brooks Building, 100 Thomas More St., room 230 (map)

Students and members of the public are invited to watch a live broadcast of the official opening at the Gowlings Moot Court (Fauteux Hall, room 147). 

Chief Justice of Ontario Warren Winkler will join University of Ottawa President Allan Rock and members of the Scott family, as well as a number of local judges and friends of the Common Law Section, for the official opening of the courtroom.
