MEDIA ADVISORY: Inauguration of the Monument de la francophonie at the University of Ottawa
OTTAWA, September 23, 2013 — The University of Ottawa and the Organizing Committee for the Monuments de la francophonie at the University of Ottawa invite you to celebrate Franco-Ontarian day by attending the official unveiling of the Monument de la francophonie, the eighth such monument in Ottawa, which pays tribute to the Franco-Ontarian community.
WHAT: Inauguration of the Monument de la francophonie at the University of Ottawa
WHEN: Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at 2 p.m.
WHERE: On the pedestrian walkway between Perez Hall and Simard Hall, 50 University Private (map)
The names of the 200 donors whose contributions made this project possible are engraved on signs sporting the colours of the Franco-Ontarian flag. This Monument symbolizes the University of Ottawa’s concrete and ongoing support to the Franco-Ontarian community.
