MEDIA ADVISORY: uOttawa to welcome close to 2,000 high school students for Enrichment Mini-Courses Program

OTTAWA, May 3, 2013  —  The University of Ottawa invites the media to visit the campus for its exciting Enrichment Mini-Courses Program, a unique annual event in the world of Canadian education. From May 6 to 10, close to 2,000 motivated, talented and high performance high school students from grades 8 to 11 and Secondary II to V will have the opportunity to explore a field of study or interest.

This year, the University of Ottawa will be offering students 40 French mini-courses and 49 English mini-courses. The array of fun and educational mini-courses includes “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” (presented by the Telfer School of Management), “So You Want to Be Prime Minister? A How-To Guide to Ruling a Country” (presented by the School of Political Studies), and “Detectives in Genes/Jeans” (presented by the Department of Biochemistry).
