MEDIA ADVISORY: Generous commitment to celebrate 70 years of Canada-Greece relations
OTTAWA, November 6, 2012 — The University of Ottawa invites members of the media to an announcement of a $1 million gift from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) to the University of Ottawa in celebration of 70 years of Canada-Greece relations.

This generous donation will create SNF Scholarships that will be awarded annually to two Greek students who wish to pursue their master’s studies in engineering, law, medicine or the social sciences at the University of Ottawa.
His Excellency Eleftherios Anghelopoulos, Ambassador of Greece in Canada, the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, University chancellor, and Allan Rock, University of Ottawa President, will take part in the announcement.
