MEDIA ADVISORY: Official Opening of the New Social Sciences Building

OTTAWA, October 17, 2012  —  The University of Ottawa invites members of the media to a guided tour of its new Social Sciences Building followed by the official opening of the new building.

For the first time ever, the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Social Sciences’ 10,000 students, 260 professors and 100 staff will be together under one roof, in the heart of our downtown campus.

During the guided tour, you’ll have a chance to see the highest living wall in North America and the School of Psychology’s new INSPIRE Laboratory.

WHAT: Guided tour and official opening of the new Social Sciences Building
WHEN: Friday, October 19, 2012. Tour begins at 9:15 a.m.; official opening ceremony begins at 10 a.m.
WHERE: Social Sciences Building Atrium, 120 University, Ottawa (Map)

Royal Galipeau, MP for Ottawa-Orléans, and the Honourable Madeleine Meilleur, Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services and MPP for Ottawa-Vanier, will take part in the ceremony.
