University of Ottawa hosts major announcement on genetic research

OTTAWA, February 1, 2012  —  The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, minister of health, and the Honourable Gary Goodyear, minister of state for science and technology, were at uOttawa on January 31 to announce a major investment in genetic research. The ultimate objective is to advance personalized medicine, which has the potential to both provide more effective individual treatment for Canadians and make the country’s healthcare system more sustainable.
