Research Information:

My main research is on gender inequalities, especially in the developing world. I have just finished a book, Gender Equality and Inequality in Rural India, Blessed with a Son, that is about son preference in rural India and why it persists despite a great deal of social and economic progress. I am also teaching a course on international health with a focus on improving health systems worldwide.
