School of Management
Hi! I am Steve. We're in front of the Desmarais Building. Inside is the Telfer School of Management, named after Canadian entrepreneur and uOttawa alumnus Ian Telfer. Follow me for a look at where you'll be spending much of your time starting in September!
As a student of the Telfer School of Management, you get access to exclusive services. Take for example, the Student Services Centre on the first floor: you can get academic counseling here, ask for information about scholarships and bursaries, apply for an international exchange, and much more. It's a one-stop shop.
We also have our own career centre at the Telfer School. The friendly staff have got you covered when it comes to job hunting: they'll help you improve your résumé, give you tips on how to write a powerful cover letter—and even practice your interviewing skills with you—and in both official languages.
When it comes to providing an exciting learning environment, Desmarais is a real showcase: plenty of student lounges, six lecture halls, a special management library, high-tech computer labs, wireless Internet from top to bottom, and even a gourmet coffee shop.
For those of you looking to get involved, all the Telfer School student associations have their offices here... and they're eager for you to visit...and sign up. Don't forget, too, that the Telfer School itself holds conferences, luncheons and special events in a state-of-the-art multipurpose room. There's more to learning than books and classrooms, right?
That’s all for now, but if you want to see more, just have one of our student ambassadors give you a lively tour...smiles and plenty of sneak peeks guaranteed!
The Telfer School of Management is located in the new Desmarais Building. Noteworthy features of this impressive facility include breakout rooms, four computer labs, six conference rooms, student lounges and club offices, wireless connectivity throughout the building, four classrooms specially designed for the graduate program, six lecture theatres with capacity for more than 700, and a multipurpose room suitable for hosting a multitude of events, conferences, seminars and celebrations.
