Services

Hello, my name is Li. I’m rushing off to the gym, but if you can keep up, I'll point out some key uOttawa services along the way.

Let’s start with InfoService, the one-stop shop for taking care of everything. This is where you go to get information about your tuition, obtain your student card, pick up an official transcript.

We're on the 1st floor of the Jock-Turcot University Centre, right in the heart of the campus. Over here is the Student Federation office. And over here is the University of Ottawa Bookstore.

This is one of many places on campus to grab a bite.

Over there is the Financial Aid and Awards Service. It's where you come for scholarships, bursaries, government loans and even financial counselling.

Let’s visit our Student Academic Success Service…or SASS. Oh, hey, Erin! Hi Li! How are you? I am good! She's a student mentor who gave me a lot of advice last year.

On this floor is the Aboriginal Resource Centre; it promotes Aboriginal culture and values. On the third floor is Career Services—THE spot for help with job-hunting skills. And here's Access Services: students with disabilities have all the resources they need here to reach their academic potential.

If writer's block has got you struggling with an essay, come here to the Academic Writing Help Centre.

Now we're in front of 100 Marie-Curie. It's home to two more SASS units: The Experiential Learning Service allows you to become more involved in the community. And the fourth floor is where you can come for professional counselling.

Oh wait! I almost forgot: Health Services is in here, too—there's a walk-in clinic, doctor’s offices and the campus pharmacy.

For safety, this campus is hard to beat. Take these emergency phones: If you need urgent help, just touching the button puts you in direct contact with Protection Services, whose staff is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Alright...now I'm warmed up...and out of time! Off to the sports complex. Be sure to check out the Sports Services video for a quick peek!

Most University student services operate out of the Jock-Turcot University Centre, between Morisset Library and Montpetit Hall. It's home to everything from the Central Food Court and the Bookstore to the Financial Aid and Awards Service and parts of the Student Academic Success Service (SASS). Another main service building is 100 Marie-Curie, which houses Health Services and other SASS units like Counselling and Experiential Learning. Finally, our mentoring centres and food outlets have locations campus-wide, many right on site in each faculty.
